EAST GARDEN CITY - An East Garden City fast food restaurant was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning, according to Nassau police.

Investigators say an employee at the Wendy's on Old Country Road was taking out the trash when two men, one of them armed, pushed him back inside.

The employee and four others were then ordered to give the suspects cash and open the restaurant's safe, police say.

Newsday reports that the armed suspect is described as being in his 20s, 6 feet tall and 160 pounds. The second suspect is described as 19 years old, 5 feet tall and 140 pounds.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
