HUNTINGTON - Police say a Huntington woman was charged with DWI after crashing her Mercedes Benz into a Huntington home early this morning. Sophia Anderson, 21, of Brooklyn, was heading south on Browns Road at around 4 a.m. when she failed to turn at the Southdown Road intersection, police say. Her car went through the intersection and crashed into a home, stopping in the backyard.Huntington Fire Chief Ken Cochrane says the car propelled the stove into the backyard, resulting in a natural gas leak.
Authorities say two sisters in their 90s were sleeping in the house at the time. Both women are OK.
