Police: Drunken driver led cops on pursuit in Ronkonkoma

RONKONKOMA - Police have arrested a Nesconset man who they say was driving drunk when he crashed into a police car and another vehicle this morning.

Authorities say an officer spotted 44-year-old Steven Keating driving erratically on Hawkins Avenue in Ronkonkoma at around 2 a.m.

Police say Keating led officers on a high-speed chase onto the Long Island Expressway, where they say he hit a police car.

Officers eventually arrested Keating on the service road near the William Floyd Parkway after he slammed into a disabled car, police say. No one suffered serious injuries.

Police say Keating has multiple outstanding warrants issued by the NYPD. He was allegedly driving with a suspended license.
