MASSAPEQUA - Police say that DNA assisted in the arrest of a North Wantagh man who allegedly stole 40 soda cans from a restaurant in Massapequa last moth.

Authorities say Daniel Dierberger broke into Song Cuisine restaurant. Newsday reports that Dierberger left evidence at the scene of the crime in the form of "a blood smear."

Newsday goes on to report that the DNA evidence linked him to a second burglary in January.
