RIDGE - A scare involving a stranger at a school in Ridge turned out to be a false alarm.

Police say a man who tried to pick up a student at Ridge Elementary School last week was at the school for a legitimate reason. An investigation found that a school employee misunderstood which student the man was trying to take home.
