JONES BEACH - State troopers say they are starting to crack down on drivers not using seat belts and overcrowded cars.

News 12 Long Island's Sean Bergin says that troopers are keeping an extra lookout for people packing their cars with too many bodies on their way to beaches and parks.

Troopers say they were prompted to do this after issuing 93 tickets at one park in a single day.

State troopers say the campaign will continue throughout the rest of the summer, and the tickets could go up to $180.
