HOLBROOK - Police are looking for the driver who fatally struck a woman before driving off early this morning in Holbrook.

Cheri Larrydale, 46, of Holbrook, was crossing the street at the intersection of Veterans Highway and Broadway Avenue just before 1 a.m. when police say she was hit.

Employees at a Sunoco station near the accident say the victim was a regular customer who would often come in several times per day.

News 12 has learned that Larrydale lived in an apartment complex down the road from the scene of the accident, and she may have been on her way home when she was killed.

Neighbor Silvana Kozak says Larrydale didn't have a car and would often walk to get around.

Police say they're looking for a car that has front-end and headlight damage.

There are red light cameras at the busy intersection where the accident occured, so police are hoping they will help yield some clues in their investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
