LAWRENCE - Nassau County police have confirmed that the boy who was involved in a boating accident in Lawrence on Friday has died.

Police say the 10-year-old boy was tubing with other five children on a boat that belonged to a friend's father when he fell into the Reynolds Channel, near the Cedarhurst Yacht Club. The boy tried getting back onboard the boat when police say his left leg got stuck in the propeller. He was rushed to the hospital.

The child was pronounced dead early Saturday morning, according to police. His identity has not been released.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, but police say they do not suspect any criminality.
