NORTH BELLMORE - Police are asking for the public’s assistance to help crack a murder case that has gone cold in recent years.

New York State Police found the remains of Tanya Rush, 39, of Brooklyn, in a suitcase on the shoulder of an entrance ramp along the Southern State Parkway in North Bellmore in June 2008.

Investigators are hoping the public can provide some information that could potentially bring a suspect to justice.

A $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Anyone with information about Rush’s murder is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-313-TIPS.
