BAY SHORE - Police say they have arrested the driver who hit a man crossing the road and fled the scene in Bay Shore.

Saquan Johnson will be charged with leaving the scene of the deadly crash.

According to police, Elvin Ponce, of Brentwood, was walking across Redington Street when he was struck and killed on Saturday.

Police say they arrested Johnson yesterday in front of a Uniondale auto body shop.

Police say they had been searching for a dark sedan with front-end damage.
