FARMINGDALE - Police say four people were killed and three more were injured in a head-on crash Friday night in Farmingdale.

The accident happened at around midnight on Conklin Street.

Police say the driver of a 2001 Nissan was headed west when they lost control of their vehicle and crossed into oncoming traffic. The car struck an oncoming Chevy Suburban head-on.

Four young people in the Nissan were killed, including the driver. Another passenger was seriously injured.

The 52-year-old driver and female passenger in the Chevy were hospitalized in serious condition.

Police have not released the identities of the victims, but relatives tell Newsday two of them are 15-year-old Noah Francis and 18-year-old Jesse Romero.

Police say it could be days before it is known if drugs or alcohol could have played a role in the crash.

A fundraising website was set up to help pay for funeral arrangements for Francis.

Social workers and psychologists will be at Farmingdale High School on Monday to provide grief counseling to students and staff.

A vigil for the victims is expected to be held Sunday night.
