Police: 3 teens stabbed at Hempstead Lake State Park

Three teens were stabbed Monday afternoon at Hempstead Lake State Park. Police say they are seeking multiple suspects.

The attack occurred on a path in the park shortly after 3 p.m., state park police say.

WEST HEMPSTEAD - Three teens were stabbed Monday afternoon at Hempstead Lake State Park, according to police.

The attack occurred on a path in the park shortly after 3 p.m., state park police say.

Authorities say they are looking for six suspects in connection with the case. Police say they have reason to believe that the suspects may attend Hempstead High School.

One of the teens was critically injured after being stabbed in his side.

The victims have not yet been identified.

A source says a machete and a knife may have been used in the attack.

State park police are handling the investigation.
