LEVITTOWN - Police are on the lookout for a group of vandals who have been targeting cars in several Nassau communities. Detectives say 27 cars were vandalized in East Meadow over the weekend. Several had their tires slashed, windows broken or side-view mirrors damaged. One act of vandalism in Levittown was caught on home surveillance video. A group of young people can be seen kicking a car and slashing its tire along Sugar Maple Road. As News 12 Long Island has reported, dozens of cars have been vandalized in recent weeks, and one car was even torched. Other types of vandalism have been reported in neighboring Nassau communities. Over the weekend, police say swastikas were spray-painted on church property in East Meadow, and windows were recently broken in the area at an auto shop. Police say they're looking into all of the incidents, but it's unclear if they're related.No arrests have been made.
