Police: 2 kids approached by man in Bellmore

Police attempted to stop a vehicle on the William Floyd Parkway near Victory Avenue after they saw it had no lights on and it appeared the operator could be driving intoxicated, police say.

BELLMORE - Police are searching for the man who approached two kids in Bellmore. 

According to police, an 11-year-old was approached by a man in a white pick-up truck on Oak Street. Police say the man asked the girl to come to the truck, but she ran away. 

Police say 15 minutes later, a man in a white pickup truck approached a 10-year-old boy on Dewey Avenue in North Bellmore. The boy also ran. 

The man is described as white and wearing a baseball cap with the letter 'B' on it. 

Anyone with information should call police.
