Police: 2 dead in separate Suffolk shootings

Police say the first shooting happened in Central Islip when Marcus Bohannon was walking south on Lowell Avenue at Ash Street around 12:45 a.m.

CENTRAL ISLIP - Police are investigating two fatal shootings in Suffolk County.

Police say the first shooting happened in Central Islip when Marcus Bohannon was walking south on Lowell Avenue at Ash Street around 12:45 a.m.

Neighbors called police after hearing shots, and when police arrived they found him lying in the street. Bohannon 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.

About an hour earlier, police say two teens were shot while standing on Irving Avenue in Wyandanch.

Police say Malik Stoddart, 18, of Wyandanch was killed. Another unidentified 19-year-old man survived the shooting.

Police have not released a possible motive for either shooting.

So far, there have been no arrests.
