Police: 2 arrested in connection to Smithtown bar shooting

SMITHTOWN - Police say two people have been arrested in connection to a shooting at a Smithtown bar.

Police say Joell Nieves, of Bay Shore, and Dashaun Odister, of East Patchogue, are the gunmen who shot a man outside Hypnosis 8.0. The incident happened during a fight outside the bar on East Main Street last month.

Nieves and Odister are charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. Odister was also charged on an active warrant for Military Desertion from the Army.

The victim survived the shooting.
