FREEPORT - Police are searching for two suspects involved in a Freeport robbery.

Police say the men were armed with handguns when they broke into a Auto Zone store around 9 p.m. last night on East Merrick Road.

According to police, the suspects forced two workers to the ground. One of the employees was beaten, and the other was forced to open the safe, police say.

The workers were tied up with duct tape, a belt and a phone cord before the suspects took off.

Police say an unidentified amount of cash was taken, but the victims were not seriously injured.
