Police: 1 man behind 8 TD Bank robberies

FLORAL PARK - Police say they now believe that the same man is responsible for at least eight Nassau bank robberies, including two in one day.

Police say the suspect robbed a TD Bank on Hempstead Turnpike at around 1:30 p.m. yesterday. About half an hour later, cops think the same robber hit the TD Bank on Jericho Turnpike in Floral Park.

Police believe the man targeted TD Banks in Franklin Square, Floral Park, Westbury, Wantagh and Plainview since May 6.

According to investigators, the robber approaches a bank teller, hands a bag and verbally demands money. He then takes off on foot. It remains unclear why he only targets TD Banks.

Police have released a surveillance photo depicting the alleged suspect. A reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest. People who know of his whereabouts are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
