SYOSSET - Police and firefighters are at the scene of a home explosion in Syosset, where they say a person inside suffered burns.

Officials say the blast happened on Alexander Drive. The occupant is in critical condition, according to authorties.

A family member says the victim works at a guidance counselor at a local school.

Officials from Keyspan say they have turned off gas to the home. Investigators are still trying to determinte the cause of the blast.
