SYOSSET - After a blizzard dumped 12-18 inches of snow across Long Island, crews were out clearing the roads as fast as they could.

Many plow drivers ask for patience after big storms hit. They say their main priority is to clear the main roads first and then get to the side streets.

Though some residents seemed frustrated they were stuck in their homes, they said they understand it takes time to clear the enormous amounts of snow.

Plow drivers suggest people move a safe distance away when they come down the block. They say people shoveling driveways or walkways might slip in the roadway from the snow being flung off the plow blade.
