FARMINGVILLE - Two Brookhaven Town Board members say they will introduce a proposal at tonight's meeting that may save Holtsville Wildlife and Ecology Center from closing.
The center was proposed to be closed by former Brookhaven Supervisor Mark Lesko in next year's budget. Lesko has since stepped down as supervisor.
Councilwoman Connie Kepert and Councilman Tim Mazzei say that organizational changes to the town's Traffic Safety and Highway Departments can save enough money to keep the center open.
