HEMPSTEAD - A protest today took aim at the privatization of Nassau County's bus system.
Demonstrators say what riders ultimately get may be worse than what they have now with Long Island Bus. Commuter advocates are worried that privatizing the bus service will force rates to go up, limit service and ultimately leave Long Islanders stranded.
As News 12 Long Island has reported, the MTA cut all of its funding to the bus system, prompting the county to consider having a private company take over.
