CENTRAL ISLIP - An East End physician assistant was arrested for allegedly selling prescriptions for pain pills to known drug dealers.
Michael Troyan, of Riverhead, was taken into custody during a raid Wednesday morning, officials tell News 12.
Federal prosecutors say Troyan had been issuing prescriptions for thousands of oxycodone pills to street dealers for cash since 2011.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Troyan was caught on camera writing phony prescriptions for the pain pills at the East End Urgent & Primary Care Center in Riverhead.
The Riverhead office was closed Wednesday.
Troyan pleaded not guilty to federal drug charges and is due back in court on Friday.
