WOODBURY - Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone says the opening of the LIE will allow vital state resources to reach areas still struggling after the weekend blizzard.

Bellone called News 12 Long Island this morning to update the region regarding snowstorm recovery. He says the opening of the Long Island Expressway will greatly help get Suffolk County roadways back to normal.

"Now that the LIE is open and some of these major arteries are completely down to pavement...all these state resources that the governor has brought in can be redeployed to help open up all these other areas," says Bellone.
