GARDEN CITY - It's payday today for some fortunate Long Islanders who won the lottery recently.

Ten winners picked up checks totaling $29 million at the lottery's office in Garden City.

Among the winners is a 37-year-old Valley Stream mother who won the "Win $1,000,000 a Year for Life" scratch-off game. Also, a retired corrections officer from Central Islip won about $2 million in another scratch-off game.

Five office workers who pooled their money for a Powerball game went home with $1 million.
