HOLBROOK - Police say patrons in Holbrook stopped a man from robbing a bar.

According to police, Joseph Spevak, of Holbrook, walked into the Backporch Bar just before midnight last night. 

Cops say about 15 people were inside when Spevak allegedly went behind the bar, threatened a female employee with a knife and demanded money. 

When he took off, the bar’s owner and patrons stopped him and held him until police came.
