NORWALK - A Norwalk doctor says he has been seeing a steady stream of patients who are congested and sneezing.

Dr. Robert Weiss says many of them can blame allergies and the recent explosion of tree pollen in the area.

Dr. Weiss, of Connecticut ENT, Sinus and Allergy, says if patients can't avoid what they are allergic to, they should use a saline nasal spray to flush out allergens and consider an over-the-counter steroid nasal spray.

He also says another symptom of allergies most people don't know about is hearing loss.

"We reassure patients that it's a temporary state, like when you fly it's eventually going to clear up," he says. "Sometimes it requires medication directed at the allergies, directed at reducing that inflammation in the nose and sinus areas."
