PATCHOGUE - Police say a woman fought back against a homeless man accused of trying to rob her store at knifepoint.

According to police, Kristian Falterman, walked into A&E Multi Services in Patchogue yesterday afternoon and pulled a knife out and demanded cash.

Ana Ramones fought back and took Falterman's knife and threw it out of the store. Police say a passerby held Falterman until police arrived. Falterman was formally charged with robbery today.

News 12 Long Island has learned the store clerk is being examined at the hospital because the suspect's blood got on her.
