PATCHOGUE - A Patchogue toddler is defying the medical odds to overcome a debilitating condition. Beyla Pagano was born premature at 24 weeks, and was then diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage. Doctors told her parents that she would likely be unable to walk and talk for the rest of her life, and would suffer from severe cerebral palsy. However, after nine brain surgeries and countless other procedures, she is still making strides in her recovery. Friends and family are hosting a benefit for Beyla, now 2 years old, in Bayport this weekend.
