WANTAGH - Fans of Jimmy Buffett headed to Jones Beach Thursday night for one of the biggest concerts of the summer season.

Before the concert, Buffett's fans, also known as "Parrotheads," enjoyed the pre-show party in the parking lot nearly as much as the concert itself.

Fans arrived at Jones Beach hours before the concert to tailgate. Wearing loud Hawaiian shirts and hula skirts, the fans turned the parking lot into a Jimmy Buffett paradise.

About 16,000 fans were expected to pack the theater for the sold-out show.
