WANTAGH - Long Islanders held a peace vigil tonight to honor those affected by the Boston Marathon attack.

Referred to as a "Vigil and Healing Mass for Peace," the prayer service was held at the Church of St. Jude in Wantagh. Parishioners sang hymns and offered prayers, while organizers lit candles at the altar.

The event was meant to convey solidarity and a sense of togetherness with the more than 170 people wounded along the race route.
