UNIONDALE - School officials in Uniondale met with parents Tuesday after a high school teacher was accused of rape.
It was the first school board meeting of the new year, and anxious parents filled the room.
As News 12 previously reported, teacher Lionel Harvey was indicted on multiple charges including the rape of a girl under the age of 13.

School officials said Harvey was reassigned and ordered to stay away from school properties during his case.
Parents at the meeting demanded that the school board tell them where Harvey had been reassigned to, but the board said it could not say due to the nature of the issue.
Some parents expressed outrage that Harvey might be still receiving paychecks at taxpayers' expense. Others accused the district of not doing enough to screen teachers.
The board told parents that Harvey is on administrative leave while the case is in litigation.
