BRONXVILLE - A Bronxville family is desperately searching for their missing tortoises.

Back in September, Spartacus and Maximus mysteriously vanished from Ellie Rice's backyard, where they lived in little plastic huts, munching on grass and bathing in the sunlight.

Rice says when she went to look for her pets, she found one of the huts was tipped over and the other one had been moved.

She is worried that her reptiles, which were a birthday gift six years ago from her husband, may have become another animal's lunch.

"To be honest, even if someone called and say, ‘Hey we found a shell,’ I would be happier than just not knowing," she says.
