LINDENHURST - A motorcycle club with a violent past held a fundraiser Saturday in Lindenhurst for a Seaford boy with brain cancer.

The Pagans Motorcycle Club raised money for 13-year-old Thomas Napoli, who has been battling cancer for two years. Thomas went through emergency surgery and survived, but is still monitored closely.

The event was closely observed by Suffolk County authorities, because it was also a celebration of the Pagans 50th anniversary and the reopening of its Long Island chapter.

The motorcycle club has a history of violence on Long Island, especially when it comes into contact with members of the rival Hell's Angels. In 2012, a turf war between the Pagans and the Hells Angels turned deadly in Plainview and dozens of bikers were arrested.

The event is expected to continue into the early hours of Sunday morning. Many law enforcement officials are working overtime to make sure everything runs smoothly.
