OYSTER BAY - Oyster Bay residents overwhelmingly voted to allow the town to sell a piece of land next to the old Cerro Wire property in Syosset.

The Taubman Group wanted to build a mall on the old factory site, but the town wants to sell it to Oyster Bay Realty who is not in favor of that plan.

Residents are torn on how they want the land to be used but most community members agree that they don't want the area to become congested.

The Taubman Group has previously said it plans to fight for its plan in court.
