An organization today helped give some Long Island families in need a day that they'll never forget.Convoy of Hope held an event today in Uniondale

UNIONDALE - An organization today helped give some Long Island families in need a day that they'll never forget.

Convoy of Hope held an event today in Uniondale for families living in poverty. Between 6,000 and 8,000 Long Island residents were invited.More than $1 million in goods and services were provided with the help of local churches and nonprofit organizations. The event included free lunch, a concert, face painting and pampering. There was also a job fair that aimed to help people get back on their feet.The Convoy of Hope visits all 50 states and helps 46 million Americans living in poverty.
