An oil tanker went up in flames in Massapequa Sunday morning, prompting evacuations in the immediate area.

The fire broke out at around 10 a.m. on Merrick Road between Bayview Avenue and Cedar Shore Drive, near St. Rose of Lima Church and a children's Catholic school.
