WOODBURY - If you get a call that you missed jury duty, owe taxes or failed to pay your utilities you should hang up. Officials say it is a phone scam.

News 12 Long Island has previously reported that in October scammers were asking people to pay utility bills with Green Dot card.

Nassau police say they're also calling to say you failed to show up for jury duty and must pay a fine or a relative is in trouble.

The scammers ask you to send cash with a Green Dot card or now through Western Union.
