HEMPSTEAD - Authorities say a Freeport man involved in an armed robbery was shot by police yesterday. Police say Kelly Baldwin, of Freeport, along with Marcus Wheeler, of Roosevelt, and Destiny Leonard, of Hempstead, allegedly robbed two men at a cash machine on North Franklin Street in Hempstead yesterday morning. Wheeler and Leonard were arrested shortly after the incident. Police say they found Baldwin a few hours later with a gun in Roosevelt, and he was shot in the elbow when he failed to stop and raise his hands. He is now facing robbery charges. 3rd suspect accused in ATM robbery arrested
