WOODBURY - ? Officials say troubles at the Nassau County Crime Lab may go back further than first thought. According to Newsday, a state law enforcement official testified in court yesterday about a letter written in 2008. The letter warns of ?problems? at the county lab and is addressed to several Nassau officials, including the current DA and the former police commissioner. The letter was never sent. Nassau?s crime lab was shut down last year because of potentially tainted evidence.
