MOUNT SINAI - Four officers spent three hours yesterday rescuing a fawn from a 20-foot manhole in Mount Sinai. Suffolk County Emergency Service officers Tobie Monaco, Billy Judge, Dan Coan and Walter Justincic responded to a call from a landscaper about a deer trapped in a manhole around 5 p.m. yesterday. The officers say they used a rigging rope to lower Justincic into the manhole, who put a harness around the fawn. Then, the officers lifted the duo from the hole. After police rescued the deer, they checked it for injuries and released it into the woods.
