Officers credited for saving heroin overdose victim in North Amityville

The victim was transported to a local hospital. (February 17, 2013)

NORTH AMITYVILLE - Two Suffolk police officers are being credited with saving the life of a North Amityville woman who they found overdosing on heroin.

Officers Robert DeSanto and Anthony Cerasuolo discovered the 25-year-old unconscious in her car Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of Sal's Fruit Tree. The officers used the anti-opiate treatment Narcan to revive her.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.
