Officer heading to robbery hit by car on William Floyd Parkway

SHIRLEY - A police officer heading to a robbery was broadsided by a car on the William Floyd Parkway, according to officials.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. last night at the intersection of the William Floyd Parkway and Victory Avenue in Shirley.

According to police, the officer was responding to an armed robbery at a Dunkin' Donuts when a woman crashed into his car.

The officer suffered minor injuries and has been released from the hospital. The female driver also suffered injuries.

Police are searching for the three male suspects wanted in the robbery.
