CLARION, PA - Three NYPD officers helped rescue a woman in an overturned ambulette Thursday morning, while they were on their way to pay their respects to a fallen K9 in Ohio.

Officers Matt Wicelinski, Daniel Rich and Benny Colecchia – a Long Island native – came upon the overturned vehicle in Clarion, Pennsylvania.

The officers smashed the windows and used a knife to cut the woman out of her wheelchair.

They were able to extract her and give her first aid until emergency crews arrived on the scene.

Colecchia told Newsday that the roads were in poor condition.
