NYC tightens security ahead of NYE

MANHATTAN - Officials say if you are headed to Times Square for New Year's Eve, expect extremely tight security.

According to police, partygoers will be required to pass through two checkpoints. 

Officers will be armed with radiation detection devices. In addition, bomb-sniffing dogs and heavily armed units will also be on patrol. 

For the first time, the NYPD will deploy its Critical Response Command, which includes 500 officers  that are trained to deal with terror, will be on the streets.
