MANHATTAN - Officials say New York City’s sugary drink ban will go into effect tomorrow.

Mayor Bloomberg's ban limits restaurants and stores from selling some sugar-filled beverages that are more than 16 ounces.

The ban covers soda, energy drinks, and even sweetened fruit smoothies.

Convenience stores, vending machines and some newsstands are exempt from the new law.

The ban is the nation's first limit on the size of sugary drinks.
