WOODBURY - Three major cities are on high alert this New Year's Eve following reports of possible terror threats.

CNN reports President Obama has been warned about a potential plot targeting New York, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

The threats are unconfirmed and did not mention specific locations within the cities.

Officials say they are concerned terrorists may target areas where there are large crowds.

The NYPD is deploying its new specialized counterterrorism unit, along with bomb-sniffing dogs, radiation detectors and snipers.
