WOODBURY - Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) and state legislators are in the process of negotiating a tuition hike for all State University of New York campuses.

Officials are considering a 5 percent increase for all 64 campuses.

The university centers at Stony Brook and Buffalo are asking for an additional 3 percent hike because of added costs for equipment and faculty.

If a hike is instituted, most students would pay about $250 more per year beginning this fall.
