WOODBURY - The New York program for medical marijuana starts Thursday. 

Patients with conditions like AIDS and cancer will have access to non-smokeable forms of marijuana. 

The closest dispensary will be located in Manhattan. 

Officials say there are plans to open similar facilities in Riverhead and Lake Success.
