WASHINGTON - (AP) - A top federal transportation official says thecasino tour bus involved in the Bronx crash that killed 15 peoplewas barreling down the highway at up to 78 miles per hour. National Transportation Safety Board Chairwoman Deborah A.P.Hersman disclosed the new information during a U.S. Senatecommittee hearing in Washington on motor coach safety Wednesday. She also said that a video camera on the motor coach windshield"did not record the accident." The bus crashed March 12 while returning to the city from acasino in Connecticut. The bus flipped onto one side and struck apole, which nearly severed the roof off. An attorney for the driver, Ophadel Williams, did notimmediately respond to a request for comment Wednesday. The driverhas not been charged.
